This is so deep and intense, the IPV is so real to life, very intense, with a twisted ending- I really hope there is a sequel.

This was a very intense book. I have also been through a relationship where the toxicity was so high that I knew it was wrong, but just could not leave the guy. This reminds me so much of that feeling, the trapped feeling. I love the twist at the end, it was sad but bittersweet. I think the author has a second book on these characters coming out. I will have to read that one and see if it is as wild as this one!

I couldn't put this book done, It was a wonderful read. I loved the ending, a real surprise ending and I loved it. I Highly Recommend this book.
Wow, great short book, a quick read filled with drama, some sex scenes which were wild. Definitely an adult read, well written, and the characters are intense. I don't want to give too much away, but it really hits home to someone who has been in a narcissistic relationship before.

When the Pedestal Shatters is about a woman who barely escaped with her life from a relationship of manipulation with a narcissist. She adjusted her name and started anew states away while carefully planning for on-going safety measures for herself and the pregnancy that she discovered after the traumatic lost of her previous home in an explosion. Seven months of silence turns into a mysterious package, text messages from an unknown number, and the return of a man she left behind in the rubble of that explosion. He is now wanting a relationship with her child, and he'll do anything to get it. There is suspense, trauma, manipulation, and acts of violence, which may trigger some, and connect to others who share similar experiences. The storyline was linear, and the characters were well-developed. I was given an advance copy, and decided to voluntarily leaving a review.
